RSNA 2008

Solution for cross enterprise efficiency

At this year's RSNA Sectra launched a combined RIS/PACS solution for the North American market. A solution that is especially powerful with customers who have demands to deliver radiology services across several institutions and/or communicate between several healthcare providers.

We also showcased the latest additions to our next-generation PACS including:

A unique photon-counting mammography system

A growing number of providers of medical technology point to photon-counting as the future in medical imaging. Our unique photon-counting full-field digital mammography system, Sectra MicroDose Mammography, L30, is was as always a success RSNA. It is currently the only commercially available photon-counting mammography system on the market. Sectra MicroDose Mammography maximizes image quality and increases throughput at the lowest radiation dose on the market.

Trend tracking

Borderless radiology

The current trend with more and more digital images to read together with an ageing population poses a difficult challenge. How can we process more information, faster and at lower cost without compromising the quality of the patient care? Shifting focus from inner departmental efficiency healthcare providers now also look for efficiency gains by sharing of workload and expertise across several institution and larger regions.

Read more about the unique program carried out in Northern Ireland where 25 hospitals will be connected in one common RIS/PACS solution, thereby enabling a seamless radiology workflow throughout the entire public healthcare system in the region.

The challenge of the data explosion

There is a wide-spread consensus that the rapidly increasing data volumes produced is one of the future challenge for radiological practices. Today, GB-size datasets are routinely captured in Multi-slice CT scanners and the TB level is approaching fast, due to the introduction of time-varying volumes for functional studies.
