Sectra has signed an agreement with the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration covering the development and series delivery of a mobile, tactical voice encryption system, Tiger MTT.
Tiger MTT, which is a further development of the Tiger concept, secures communication over tactical radio and is based on the same security platform the Defense Forces uses for communications over, for example, the GSM network. The new product is being developed to operate in situations that place heavy demands on such features as moisture proofing and durability. Development will be carried out through the summer of 2005 after which series delivery will begin.

Sectra Tiger
Tiger is a concept comprising systems and products for eavesdrop protection of voice and data. The products are developed in cooperation with the Swedish, Norwegian and Netherlands military forces and are designed to fulfill the utmost security requirements.
Different situations require different solutions. Accordingly, the Tiger family comprises products that facilitate the exchange of sensitive information, regardless of whether communicating on the move from a mobile telephone, from a desktop telephone at work or a from a tactical radio in the field. To increase user flexibility, the products function in many types of communications networks, such as GSM, GPRS, DECT, PSTN, satellite and Tetra.
The products included in the Tiger concept are approved by many national security and accreditation bodies in Europe and by NATO. .
